Even McNabb Agrees
Andy Reid has to start running the ball more. Donovan McNabb throwing the ball 55 times in a game is great for McNabb owners, but not so good for Eagles fans. I won’t say that it cost the team a game, as it did when they faced the Oakland Raiders, but it certainly didn’t help matters. When your quarterback is asking for you to run the ball, things might be close to getting out of hand.
Donovan McNabb was asked about the way TV cameras caught him, after one of the Eagles’ failed red zone excursions, turning toward the sideline and seeming to yell “just run the ball,” or something similar.
I think the most impressive thing is how well the Eagles passing game worked last week considering that there was zero threat of the team actually runnning the ball.
The Bears have done well defending against the running back postion over the last five weeks of the season, but have given up 4.4 yards per carry. L. McCoy makes a decent No. 2 running back this week, but only if they actually run the ball.
