Injury Update

November 19 2009 No Commented

QB Kyle Orton Denver Broncos – The AP is reporting that Orton sat out Weds practice and has torn ligaments in his ankle.  The good news is that the torn ligaments are in his left ankle and not his right. The bad news is that he has torn ligaments. Orton is in a contract year and wants to play this week.

RB Ronnie Brown Miami Dolphins – The Dolphins placed Brown on the IR ending his season.

RB Michael Turner Atlanta Falcons – Turner missed Weds practice. Mike Smith said that he has ‘made strides’ and has yet to rule him out Turner this week, but don’t count him. Best case, Turner returns Week 12.

RB Joseph Addai Indianapolis Colts – Addai is not listed on the team’s injury report.

RB Julius Jones Seattle Seahawks – Jim Mora ruled out Jones for this week’s game. No surprise here.

RB Clinton Portis Washington Redskins- Head coach Jim Zorn has called Portis ‘very doubtful’ for this week’s game.

RB Cedric Benson Cincinnati Bengals – Benson sat out Weds practice. Head coach Marvin Lewis has not ruled out Benson for this week’s game. If I had to guess he will be at best a gametime decision.

RB Brian Westbrook Philadelphia Eagles – Two neurological specialist have deemed that Westbrook should make a complete recovery from his second concussion. The Eagles are likely to take a very cautious approach here. There were some concerns that a second concussion this soon could jeopordize Westbrook’s season and possibly his career.

WR Steve Smith Carolina Panthers – No new news, still expected to play.

If you would like me to track another player toss his name in the comments.
