Ranting

The Cardinals were facing a team that had given up over five-yards per carry. The Cardinals had a 21 point led at halftime. They shouldn’t have needed an interception return for a touchdown and a goal line stand to win their game against the Houston Texans.

They did because they simple can’t and won’t run the ball. I say can’t because neither back even reached a ypc total of 3.5 and I say won’t because they only had 13 rushing attempts combined. This isn’t a good sign for the Cardinals moving forward.

I read a bit about the game on Monday and Kurt Warner (I think) said that the team had called several running plays, but they checked out of them because the Texans were stacking the box. Either Kurt Warner is given too much freedom or Ken Whisehunt isn’t that great of a coach. Stacked box or not, in games like the Cardinals were in running the clock is just as important as scoring touchdowns.

The Cardinals are lucky to be in the division they are in. Any other division and they would have no hope of making the play offs.
