TAB II: Tito’s Aimless Babbling

LaDainian Tomlinson is out this week. Be afraid. Be very afraid. I mean, it’s not a career-threatening injury or anything like that. But he’s aged, and not like “fine wine aged”. The bad “aged.” He was outstanding in 2006, great in 2007, took a big dip in 2008 and now he’s injured in 2009. Oh, and he’s 30 with almost 2,700 carries and over 500 receptions.

There’s nothing more annoying than having someone tell you about his or her fantasy football team. That being said, I had a decent week in my leagues. I am only participating in four serious leagues and one team on “Pay the Fan.” Conn is a co-owner in all of the leagues. Two of the four leagues are of the  traditional sort, and the other two are a completely different format – but still rewards yards and touchdowns.

We went 3-1 in the leagues – and the one loss would have been avoided if the Chargers had thrown the damn ball for a touchdown instead of handing off to Darren Sproles and I can’t believe Rivers wasn’t throwing in that situation with the clock winding down and I really wish he would have listened to me screaming at the television…but I’m not bothered by it.

In the “Pay the Fan” league, you must draft a lineup each week – but you can’t use the same player more than twice in the season. We had Brees and Peterson, but we had a couple of dogs (Ochocinco, LT). This week, we’re planning on going with Brady, MJD and Turner. Not sure about our receivers yet.

My point is this – we take our own advice. I’ll tell you again next week how we do.

I can’t believe Kerry Rhodes of the Jets talked smack to Brady and the Patriots. Does that ever end well for the trash talker?

Bill Simmons from ESPN.com is on the Jake Delhomme bandwagon, but no need to save a seat for me. That’s not to say he can’t be a serviceable NFL quarterback, but I wouldn’t want him as an option on my fantasy team.

Looks like Braylon Edwards fixed his case of the drops – all he needed was a minor alteration to his uniform.

This guy might be “The King of the Waiver Wire”, but this guy is the prince of the ball.
