Last Minute Predictions
I tried to squeeze in a last minute article late last night that doesn’t look like it is going to make
the cut. It was basically a short list of things that I wanted to write about or mention, but due to
time constraints I never got to. I mentioned in the article that in our drive to focus on quality
over quantity a number of things that we want to do gets left undone. Since I have this bloggy
thing there really is no excuse not to at least get part of the article out there.
Vince Young will be part of the biggest quarterback controversy this season. If the Titans
thought that Collins was the answer at quarterback and Young wasn’t, they would have saved
some money and jettisoned Young by now. They haven’t, because Kerry Collins isn’t a very
good NFL quarterback.
Willie Parker will finish the season as a top 10 fantasy back. I’m starting to like him almost as
much as Ryan Grant, only Parker is going much later in drafts. He is first in line for the goal line
carries, running for a contract and is NOT in a RBBC offense.
Ahmad Bradshaw makes the Giants happy they didn’t spend $17 million dollars on an
overpriced back-up.
Kyle Orton end of year statistics: 3,000 yards passing and 22 TDs.
Robert Meachem end of year statistics: 800 yards receiving 5 Tds.
Josh Freeman and Matt Leinart end the year as starting NFL quarterbacks.
I’ve noticed Darren McFadden climbing up a lot of draft boards over the last week. McFadden is
a great talent, but he plays for the Raiders. Is there anybody in the league afraid of the Raiders
passing game? No. Don’t forget that Michael Bush and Justin Fargas are going to get some
carries as well. Defenses will key on McFadden and he finishes the year with 800 yards rushing.
At least one owner in my rtsports.com league will offer me a trade that does more than spark
laughter.
Got any predictions of your own? Think I’m an idiot?
